Dr YSR Aarogyasri Scheme

Dr YSR Aarogyasri Scheme is a health insurance scheme by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh that provides quality universal health coverage to families below poverty line. Known previously as Aarogyasri, this scheme was originally launched by late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in 2007. In January 2020, Chief Minister upgraded this scheme with new benefits and renamed it as Dr YSR Aarogyasri Scheme.

The scheme is a unique Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the field of health insurance. It is tailor-made to serve the health needs of poor patients and provides end-to-end cashless services for identified diseases under secondary and tertiary care through a network of service providers from the government and private sector.

Households with an annual income below ₹5 Lakh and people with less than 35 acres of land (both dry and wet land) are eligible for the scheme. Around 16,37,230 Aarogyasri cards were distributed to the beneficiaries.

Under Aarogyasri Trust, there are many schemes like Dr YSR Aarogyasri, Employee Health Scheme, Arogya Raksha, Working Journalist Health Scheme and Amrutha Yojana.
