RCHRC organises Cancer Awareness session with the Inner Wheel Clubs of Ranchi to spread health awareness among students

Ranchi Cancer Care Hospital and Research Centre (RCHRC) in association with Inner Wheel Clubs of Ranchi (Pragati and South) organised informative sessions for youngsters to make them aware of health, hygiene, and cancer in children and adults.

In today’s world, learning to take care of your health and body starts young. Children need to be sensitized about health and wellness aspects in order for them to take informed decision. Ranchi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (RCHRC) in association with the Inner Wheel Club of Ranchi (South) and the Inner Wheel Club of Ranchi (Pragati) organised an awareness session on health, hygiene and lifestyle for children, parents and staff members at the Rajkiya Krat Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Argora, Ranchi.

The session was attended by close to 75 children and 20 adults. Through the day-long programme, Dr Rajnigandha Tudu, Medical Oncologist from RCHRC, focused on educating children about recommended wellness practices to boost immunity, prevent diseases and maintain good health. She also led a session for adults on cancer and discussed the risk factors and general symptoms of breast, cervical, and oral cancers. Dr Tudu also stressed how important it was to avoid tobacco and its various forms to prevent head and neck cancers.

During the session, the team spoke about RCHRC’s world-class facilities and quality cancer-care programme supported by Tata Trusts and drew the participants’ attention to how RCHRC is providing comprehensive cancer care under one roof and making it affordable and accessible to people in Jharkhand and the Eastern region. In a thoughtful gesture for the children assembled, the Inner Wheel Clubs of Ranchi, South and Pragati distributed sanitary napkins to the girls while highlighting menstrual hygiene.

Mrs Kanti Pandey, President, of Inner Wheel Club of Ranchi (South) concluded the programme by expressing gratitude to Dr Rajanigandha Tudu and the management of RCHRC for spreading awareness on crucial aspects of cancer and health.
